The food here is fantastic. I love Italian food, but I was concerned this place would be run of the mill with a too small menu, but the food is both decadent and interesting. There is complexity to each pasta sauce that makes it a bit different from the norm and so much better. HIGHLY recommend the leek gramigna and the freestyle "lasagna". The meatballs are great, the citrus salad worth ordering, the cocktails delish. The only dish I haven't absolutely loved is the tri-tip steak.
Excited to have an italian restaurant in the neighbourhood. Firs of all the service was really great. I know a lot of restaurants are struggling to find help so I was worried that service would be slow. However the service was prompt and very accommodating. Really loved that they kept filing our water glass and brought new utensils for each meal. The meatball was so juicy and flavourful. The bread was good but wish for $6 they gave more than two slices. The pasta dishes were the stars of the meal. Well cooked, full of flavour and nice portion size to share. The risotto had a nice subtle taste but seemed a bit undercooked..but maybe that is their style. I’m just accustomed to creamy and soft risotto. Will definitely make this our local pasta restaurant.
Our time at Segnatore was excellent! For apps, we got oysters, burrata, and the meatballs. I think the meatballs were the star here. For dinner, we shared a few entrees: the Leek Gramigna, Freestyle "Lasagna," and
Smoked Tri-Tip Steak. Out of these, the pastas were the best, especially the lasagna. We capped off the night with espresso martinis, which were probably the best in the city. Overall, would definitely return for the great food and ambiance!
Tonight’s closing staff was a group of Rockstars. we were the last table towards the end of the night and they had treated us like we had all the time in the world to continue our dining. Near closing time we noticed that they had already cleaned the coffee machine and expressed that we were looking to order espresso, but totally understand since the machine was already clean if they weren’t able to serve it. Without hesitation, our server generously offered that the coffee machine was ours for the taking, and Brutus, to perfectly roasted at espresso for our dessert.
Food was insanely delicious and the people were insanely kind. Will be back.
A great Italian spot in Humboldt Park. We started with the bread which was fine but combined with the prosciutto it was definitely a winner. For our mains we had pastas, everything with a noodle here will be delicious. The first pasta we had was the gnocchi which taste like little fluffy tomato pillows from heaven. The second pasta we had was the Leek Gramigne, you should not leave this restaurant without trying this. Desert was underwhelming unfortunately. All and all an awesome spot, with a friendly staff.
That BUCATINI 🤤- Restaurant week @segnatorechi 📍east humboldt, Chicago
Always love to go to new neighborhoods to try new places, even better when its Chicago Restaurant week!
Segnatore opened in Nov'21 by @orbitgroupchi , and boasts classic Italian dishes with a Midwestern twist. It's definitely a $$$ spot but good to share

BIGGEST HIGHLIGHTS (will come back just for these)
🍝 Bucatini carbonara - nice and chewy thick noodles with a braised pork belly (crisped) on the side. Very flavorful and just how it should be made
🍠 Gnocchi - classic dish but with an amazing chewiness to the Gnocchi (freshly rolled/made) + a sweet rich red tomato sauce , ricotta and fresh parsley. Every bit was just heaven
🥃La Befana - try this if you like drinks with egg white & also spices but not too sweet . Made with amaro, vermouth, blood orange, falernum, egg white . Very light and tasty, decorated with star anise . $18
👔Service - Service was nice , didn't rush us despite us sitting down at 9:30 and closing the place down at 12am. They even gave us a cake surprise & a handwritten note for Ben's birthday 🎂
🥗 Caesar Salad - I didn't know Caesar salad could be this tasty 😂 crispy & fresh gem lettuce with a delicious lemony dressing , white anchovy & garlic pangrattato
WILL RETURN TO TRY AGAIN:
🍚 seasonal risotto - very creamy and light, topped with crisped garlic and drizzled with (maybe) garlic infused olive oil & tons of butter. 😮😮ALTHOUGH the rice was slightly underdone (graininess inside), the taste is so good and I blame the busy restaurant week. So I can give them another chance
OTHERS
🍲 Garlic soup - came with crispy herb crumble
🥩Stuffed Meatball - all beef meatball stuffed with cheese and oregano
🥗 fennel salad - shaved fennel (very light) + vinaigrette, olives, and pistachio
🐖 Pork ragu - nicely tender and flavorful, with creamy polenta and a rich root vegetable sauce?
🍸evil eye martini - needed more brine but quite tasty with the caper leaf

The pasta was delicious! It was perfectly cooked and the sauces were great! The pasta was definitely a good value for the quality.
Unfortunately, some of the side items were a little overpriced and there were some hidden fees on the bill. An extra charge was for olive oil and 4 slices of bread was $12. It tasted great but no matter how good a restaurant is I have a difficult time justifying that price.
The owner charges a health wellness fee which is tacked on to the bill. The server said it goes to health insurance.
I know charging extra fees are a trending in the service industry now, I just can’t help but feel a little tricked when a surprise fee is added at the end of the meal. I wish the restaurant would just include it in the price of the meal item instead.
I’m not sure if I will be a repeat customer because of the extra fees and charges on small things like olive oil.
Fantastic place. Delicious rosemary fries and amazingly delicious meatballs. The risotto with short rib was to die for! Great interesting cocktails too! Can’t wait to go again.
